Lov has joined the list of digital agencies acquired by a major advertising group. As first announced by Meio & Mensagem, Dentsu has acquired Messrs. João Muniz and André Piva’s company. The news is that Mr. André França (Nestlé’s former media manager) is going to take the CEO position and is going to be responsible to Messrs. Renato Loes (chairman of Dentsu’s Brazilian operation), Piva and Muniz. According to the announcement, another 15 professionals are going to be hired.

Lov is going to maintain its name, work independently from Dentsu and keep its current clients. They are going to operate jointly in strategic processes for certain current and prospective clients. Messrs. Piva and Muniz are going to remain in their VP-Creation and Chairman positions respectively.

For Dentsu, the acquisition is going to contribute to Mr. Loes’s plans to structure a holding company in Brazil, in addition to strengthening the position of the Brazilian operation in the global network. “Dentsu has been targeting strategic markets and investing heavily to increase its global presence. Latin America, especially Brazil, is a key market for the group,” says Mr. Loes.

The agreement gives Lov the access to the network’s expertise and technology gained worldwide. Both of Lov’s partners have been to Dentsu’s U.S. and Japan offices twice. The negotiations went on for six months. Lov held the fourth position in the Ibope Monitor ranking of the largest agencies in 2011, having invested US$ 8.3 million in online media buying. The agency’s main clients include Sony, Nestlé, BRMalls, Magazine Luiza and Nespresso
